It’s a common misconception that it’s hard to sell a home during the holiday season. While many people prefer to move while it’s warmer out to make the moving experience more convenient, there is plenty of need for homes during November, December and January. In fact, many buyers like the idea of being in their new home in time for Christmas or the New Year. With that in mind, here are a few reasons/tips for selling your home during the holidays:
Many potential sellers think along the same line, so they wait to list…meaning, LESS COMPETITION for your home is available to the active buyers!
Burn candles that smell like Christmas. Allow potential buyers to be able to picture themselves in a holiday environment in your home.
Don’t over decorate. That doesn’t mean to not decorate at all! It’s quite alright to be festive, just don’t fill your house with so many trinkets and decorations that it makes the place feel smaller.
What holiday treat do you like? Cookies? Candy canes? Fudge? Whatever it is, chances are other people like it too. Set it out with a festive sign to share with potential buyers! They’ll appreciate the warm welcome.
